The Fun Awards for the last six years have allowed us to "spread the wealth." This is a competition-within-the-competition that disqualifies any boat that wins daily silver from Premiers-Racing (this usually eliminates about ten boats). To that end the Class will provide six trophies a cash award as described below. Entries will be posted weekly on "Our Fun Entries" and the "Fun Award Standings " will be posted daily during the event.
RULES: You have up to three chances to win. Boats may register for two (2) categories (and are enrolled automatically in the Middling category). The entry fee is $10 payable to the Class Secretary (payment options shown after you "submit"). The awards in each category will be made to the boat that is the highest finisher in their category who has not won daily silver from the Event Organizers and who shows up at the awards ceremony on Friday (no mailed awards). The cash award will be made first and is independent of any "daily silver" won. Subsequent awards will be made in order from most entries to fewest entries and winners in any category will be disqualified from subsequent categories. Awards will be presented 6:00 p.m. Thursday night [this is a new wrinkle -- not much changes after Thursday and everyone is busy loading up on Friday] at the JBoats tent. Many owners gather at the JBoats tent before daily "big tent awards" to say hello and to do our post mortems.
STRATEGY: If you are eligible for more than two categories, try to pick the ones that have the fewest number of expected entries. (See last year's results here for guidance.)
