In their continuing efforts to encourage and grow women’s participation in sailing, the St. Francis Yacht Club held their annual J/105 Women’s Skipper Invitational on their fleet of J/105s. Eleven women skippers took up the challenge on the gorgeous San Francisco Bay where a total of four races were sailed over the weekend event. The repeat winner was StFYC’s own Nicole Breault. She and her team on ARBITRAGE (Bruce Stone, Hailey Thompson, Spencer Paulsen, Iain Doran-Des Brisay, Haley Fauntleroy & Evan Brown Cahill) closed with straight bullets in their last three races to win with a mere 5 points total. The silver medal went to another top team on the Bay, Collette Zero’s BLACKHAWK crew (Brent Draney, Traci Thomas, Jeremy Herzog, Blaine Soohoo & Ryan Simmons); they posted a 4-4-4-2 tally for 14 points. Just one point behind to take the bronze was Marcia Bover’s ROULETTE with a 5-2-5-3 record for 15 points. For more J/105 Women’s Skipper Regatta information, visit https://www.stfyc.com/racing.
