Q: My headliner is rotten and moldy. Can I get rid of it?
A: No you may not. But you don’t have to put up another piece of vinyl-covered plywood as the replacement. The important thing is to retain the same function as the original headliner. You can fabricate a replacement headliner from other material like thin Starboard or other synthetic material that won’t absorb water instead. However, the completed installation must maintain the function and aesthetic appeal of the original.
